Let&#8217;s hire a salesperson because that&#8217;ll fix our sales problems, right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3682\" src=\"https:\/\/bxnetworking.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Financial-Freedom-600-\u00d7-940px-191x300.jpg\" alt=\"Business Owner Idea\" width=\"191\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You&#8217;re thinking, I just want to get on with building my business, and if I can get a salesperson, I won&#8217;t have to worry about sales so much anymore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If this is you, don&#8217;t worry, you&#8217;re not alone.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What is the Reality of Hiring a Good Salesperson?<\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Here&#8217;s some context on what good salespeople make in Australia:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Business\/Sales Development Rep&#8217;s &#8211; who hunt for business and need a hand navigating and closing sales = $60-$75K Base + $10K-$20K Commissions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Account Executives &#8211; who navigate sales and close them = $110-$130K Salary + $110K-$300K Commissions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Account Directors &#8211; manage the team = $150K-$200K Base + $150K onwards in Commissions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The truth is, it is possible to find a salesperson who can solve all your sales challenges. But they&#8217;d most likely require the skill set of being an Account Director, which is a substantial investment, as you can see.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Specifically, you&#8217;d need a cash reserve of three to six months of their salary before they started paying for themselves.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Further, you have the challenge of convincing them it&#8217;s a better option to work for you than in a reliable, highly paid, low-risk role in a larger business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And last but certainly not least, they&#8217;d need to have a strong understanding of sales for small businesses. Small business sales are challenging with no brand name and fewer resources. It requires higher levels of creativity and comfort with uncertainty to uncover your scalable sales processes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What Are Your Options?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So, let&#8217;s talk about a viable solution for your sales challenge\/s.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Scenario 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Increase your current sales by getting a sales coach or sales expert support. Result? Often slight shifts to your strategy or how you negotiate, price, or qualify leads can directly result in ROI. I&#8217;ve seen single calls result in $5-$10K directly to your bottom line. And that&#8217;s not counting the ROI of using that strategy in the future.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Scenario 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hire a salesperson at the more senior end of the Business\/Sales Development Rep level. This will probably cost you $80-$90K in base salary.
